Google news archive might be useful.

For example, here is the schedule for 15 October 1948 in a part of Ohio (you'll have to copy and paste the link, it cannot be clicked):

That particular newspaper uses excessive short-hand, but there are other newspapers.

For New York City schedules, there's this website:

Search in the name of a program, and get pages such as this 1944 schedule (again, copy and paste the link instead of clicking on it):
